A large amount of pirate treasure is known to be buried near three large oak trees close to Fowler's Bluff. Some accounts say it was the pirate Jean Lafitte. Others have the culprit as the pirate as Gasparilla.

$5 million of gold and silver wa sunk with a pirate ship in the Suwannee River near Bradford Island. A portion of this treasure has been found. The rest remains. May also be in Dixie County.
