There was a mining town north of Yakima in Ellensburg Canyon. Name Rosa back in early 1900. They mined silica. Had a post office, refinery, store, and bar. Nothing there now, but a slab where once a house stood. The museum in Ellensburg has pictures of it. In the canyon, across the river before there was a road.
